On June 29th, Danielle
Felde, a 14 year old level 9 gymnast broke her neck while training on the
vault. She was air lifted from Crystal Lake to Milwaukee's Children's Hospital.
4 weeks later she was transferred by ambulance to RIC in Chicago and spent
the following three months there. She was finally returned home to Woodstock
in early November. She now travels to RIC in Northbrook 4 days a week working
on her rehab from 9am until 3 pm. While her original diagnosis was permanent
paralysis, they discovered some sensation in November & she recently was
able to take 2 step with aid. She is looking at at least another year of
rehab, but she will be able to walk again, to what degree is unknown.
On Sunday, February 24th we will be hosting a Break for Hope break a thon at 2pm at Harper College. We will feature the Yong In University Demo team, The
Jesse White Tumblers and local Martial Arts schools will show demos & break
boards on behalf of Danielle. We have a seating capacity of 2500. Her medical
Bills are already well past $100,000. Her mother has not been able to work
since the accident and the family of 5 entire life has been disrupted.
